Users of the Orchard Court bus stop in Malmesbury have been told to use it or lose it after a request was made to cut it from the town’s bus route.
The bus operator has asked for the street, which is home to a number of elderly and disabled residents, be removed from the itinerary because of the small number of passengers.
Members of the Malmesbury Area Board refused the request and instead decided to conduct a six month survey to gauge how many people are using the bus stop before making a final decision.
If it is cut it may lead to reduced waiting times at other stops in the town.
At the area board meeting Wiltshire councillor Toby Sturgis said: “If residents wanted to keep their bus then they should ensure they use it.”
