A SWINDON motorbike company has come to the rescue of a quad biking firm hit by thieves.
Andy Cuss and Glyn Pullen, the owners of Artdeans Motorcycles, decided to donate a quad bike to Martyn Sheardown at Quadtastic after he was burgled last week.
The Advertiser reported how four bikes had been stolen from Mr Sheardown's business premises in South Marston.
The company runs parties for children aged four to 12 and was faced with having to cancel a series of Christmas parties for youngsters and financial crisis.
That was until Mr Cuss and Mr Pullen decided to help out.
Artdeans has donated an Apache 50cc quad bike to Mr Sheardown, which means that he will be able to run the parties which faced cancellation.
Mr Sheardown said: "What they're doing is great.
"I received a phone call from them. They said that they had seen my story and wanted to help out."
In spite of their generosity, the thieves have already done some damage.
Mr Sheardown added: "I lost four of my 12 bikes last week that's one third of the fleet gone overnight.
"I am booked up well into next year, and the thought of cancelling parties is pretty horrific.
"Last week was rubbish, quite frankly, but since then we are off to a great start.
" I am massively grateful to Andy and Glyn."
Andy said: "I read the article over the weekend and it got me thinking, maybe we can help out'. Our suppliers said that they could help out, and so we're hoping to deliver the bike in time for Christmas."
Mr Sheardown, 20, had four quad bikes stolen worth more than £2,000 in total, and was forced to cancel a party last weekend.
Mr Cuss sympathised with the businessman's situation.
"I have two kids myself so I know how much upset these things can cause.
"A few years ago we donated a scooter to a man in Park North.
"I wouldn't call us Good Samaritans, we just don't think it's fair that he was treated like this."
Mr Pullen added: "It's a time of year for being kind so to rob children of their parties is just malicious.
"I hope the kids have fun on the replacement quad bike."
Mr Shear-down said: "Thanks to the generosity of Artdeans we will be open all over Christmas."
