A live music gig at the Owl pub in Little Cheverell at the weekend was such a success, landlady Gillian Hodder is already planning another in aid of Help for Heroes.
Mrs Hodder didn’t know how much was raised for the charity, but at the peak of Sunday’s event some 150 people were enjoying the best of live music.
The miserable weather had little effect on the fans who turned up to hear three performers.
Many also enjoyed the barbecue on offer.
Top of the bill was London-based singer songwriter Lotte Mullen, who has just released her first CD, Plain Jane.
Mrs Hodder said: “She is represented by the same agents as the Fishermen’s Friends and she is absolutely brilliant.
“She sings with an acoustic guitar and everyone here was blown away. She is going to be mega.”
Also playing were Tony Burrows on guitar and Rob Bowden on keyboards and guitar.
Mrs Hodder added: “We are planning another gig in August. We can’t let the impetus go to waste.”
