Cinderella and the Dukes of Hazzard were among the sources of inspiration for Year 11 pupils from Clarendon College arriving at their end of year prom.

The Trowbridge pupils arrived at Cumberwell Golf Club in Bradford on Avon in style, in everything from a Pumpkin coach and Ferrari, to a Lotus Elise and open-top Porsche.

A replica of the 1969 Dodge Charger made famous by the cult TV show Dukes of Hazzard was also spotted pulling up outside the venue.

The 170 pupils enjoyed a buffet, chocolate fountain, disco, casino, magician and Fotek portraits.

One of the highlights was an exploding balloon and snow storm which fell on pupils during the last dance.

Linda Berry, of Frome Road, hired a Pumpkin coach for her daughter Domonique, 16, and seven of her friends, from Bramble Farm in North Bradley.

She said: “When it was outside our house there were people stopping to take photos on their mobile phones. It was amazing. The girls said they felt like celebrities.”
