Rock veterans Status Quo have visited a barracks in Wiltshire to film the promo video for a new version of their hit In the Army Now.
Money raised from the new recording, with the promo filmed at 4 Rifles'
barracks in Bulford, will go to forces' charities.
And with the recording, the band have won the royal seal of approval in a letter of support from the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.
Frontmen Rick Parfitt and Francis Rossi had another brush with royalty earlier this year after picking up OBEs, which they were awarded in the New Year Honours list.
In his letter Charles says: "My wife and I would like to express our warmest gratitude to you for supporting Help For Heroes and the British Forces Foundation, two incredibly worthwhile charities that do so much to assist our country's servicemen and women."
He wishes the group "every possible success" for the revamped single.
The group were given their marching orders in July when they were put through their paces by the Army to film the video.
The Prince added: "Support for our injured servicemen and women, and for the organisations that aid their recovery, comes in many forms and I am so delighted that Status Quo have chosen to re-release this single in aid of these very worthwhile causes."
The 1986 track originally reached number two in the singles chart and the new version, recorded with the Corps of Army Music, is to be released on September 26.
