Studley mum-of-four Alison Maddicks has voiced concerns about the sand extraction programme across Calne Without.
Mrs Maddicks, of Old Road, said: “It is very worrying for me to think that this may go ahead without anyone knowing about it. It’s like a huge sword hanging over my neck.”
If the sand and mineral extraction goes ahead, Mrs Maddicks fears that many homes in Studley, Quemerford and Derry Hill will be affected.
She said: “It could potentially affect a huge number of houses. I feel like we’re being sold out.”
Wiltshire Council estimates the total yield from the identified sites in the Calne area for mineral extraction could be more than 25 million tonnes.
Some of the properties are on land owned by the Bowood estate, but Lord Lansdowne has made it clear that there are no proposals to pursue a planning application on any of the sites.
