HOT on the heels of winning Best Small Town in the South West in Bloom competition, Cricklade has won gold at the national Britain in Bloom finals last week.
The town fought it out against very strong competition from all over the country, and not only was the town representing Wiltshire but earned its place in the national finals to help showcase the whole of the South West.
Anita Barratt, chairwoman of Cricklade Bloomers and herself a recipient of a special RHS ‘Community Champion’ award said: “I am so proud that all the hard work put in by so many people in Cricklade has been deservedly recognised, not only in the South West but on a national level too.”
The award was presented at a ceremony at the Sentinel Centre in Birmingham.
