Devizes tattooist Celi Oram is offering paws for thought to support the work of the Bath Cats and Dogs Home.

Ms Oram, who runs Cherubs Tattoo Parlour in Sheep Street, is offering to tattoo a paw print for £35 to animal lovers, donating all proceeds to the home at Claverton Down.

She hopes to raise £2,000 over the weekend of December 4 and 5.

She said: “I’m gonna be knackered. There will be tea and cake and a raffle and if anyone would like to donate for this, then that would be wicked.

“It’s booking up quickly. I’m already halfway there, so call the shop on 07795 474219 or email info@ cherubtattoo.co.uk for bookings.”

Ms Oram, a volunteer dog walker at the home, said: “I wanted to do a bit more. It costs £3,000 a day to run the home and they are completely self funded, so every bit helps.

“Hopefully, this will remind people that a dog is for life... just like a tattoo.”

Ms Oram, 29, who lives in Melksham, decided to become a tattooist after having her first one done when she was 18.

“I became an apprentice to Stuart Fish at South of Heaven in Melksham,” she said.

After working at the Melksham shop for a few years, Ms Oram decided to strike out on her own and open a shop in Devizes. There had been a tattoo parlour in Sheep Street before, but it had only been open two days a week. Ms Oram operates six days a week, Monday to Saturday, 11am to 6pm.

Since starting in September last year, things have been busy. Ms Oram said: “Business has been great. The word has got around and I have a lot of satisfied customers.”
