MUSIC has played a huge part in Irish singer Dan Donnelly’s life, and he is bringing his songs to The Vic in Old Town, Swindon, on Thursday April 26 at 8pm. Dan is a regular act on the UK summer festival circuit, having performed at Glastonbury Festival’s Leftfield stage, Beautiful Days festival, The Big Session, and various festivals throughout Europe.

Dan's loves, losses, poverty, wealth, addictions, successes and failures are chronicled in his forthcoming album, Country and Northern, and he will singing songs from the CD at the Swindon gig. It is due to be released by IRL records next month.

The CD weaves country, folk, pop and rock with fiery fiddles and blistering, banjos but is still in essence a pop album. It features guest appearances from Mark Chadwick (Levellers) and Mercury Music nominated producer Sean Lakeman (Seth Lakeman.

The album includes Dan's country cover of Paradise City by Guns and Roses that was used regularly on TV by the Anchor Butter advertising campaign, Made By Cows.
