Mum Jenny Wills, whose son Connor Robinson died from cancer in January, is fighting her terror of heights to keep a promise to him when she tackles a skydive this weekend.

Ms Wills decided shortly after 12-year-old Connor died on January 6 that she wanted to raise as much money as possible for Charlton Farm children’s hospice, in Wraxall, which cared for him in his last days.

She has arranged to take part in a number of events, but her first and biggest challenge for her is the 15,000 ft skydive on Sunday.

The 34-year-old said: “I am absolutely terrified at the thought of it, but I have to do it because Connor said I wouldn’t.

“I have to prove him wrong and raise money for the hospice at the same time.

“I am absolutely terrified of heights so I’m not looking forward to it.”

She will be joined by Connor’s aunt Carlene Robinson and her partner Marc Sheppard, and friend David Lambert.

Miss Robinson, 22, of Cavell Court, Trowbridge, says she is really looking forward to the skydive in Honiton, calling herself a thrillseeker.

She said: “I’m very excited about it but my partner Marc is really nervous. I have always wanted to do a skydive. “We hope to raise £1,000 between us for the hospice.”

The quartet are taking part in a corporate skydive which is raising money for Children’s Hospice South West, which runs a number of hospices including Charlton Farm.
