THIRTY new jobs will be created in Trowbridge when discount retailer Home Bargains opens on Saturday.

The firm is investing around £500,000 in its new store, located at Trowbridge Retail Park, Bradley Road, in part of the old Focus Store.

The company plans to open 50 new stores across the UK in the next twelve months. It already has more than 250 shops.

Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “Home Bargains is excited to be opening this new store in Trowbridge building further on the success across the UK. Trowbridge Retail Park will be a great location for us – we’re thrilled to be in a position to offer local people even more top branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

The store will sell a selection of homewares, health and beauty products, household, sweets and snacks, and drinks and alcohol amongst others.

TJ Morris, which operates as Home Bargains, has acquired 30 former Woolworths outlets from the administrator – most of which are already open for trading – and plans to purchase further stores directly from the landlords.
