Staff at the Tesco store in Trowbridge leapt into action when an elderly customer suffered a heart attack there on Wednesday morning.
The elderly man, believed to be in his 70s, collapsed unconscious in the store’s cafe.
First aid trained workers rushed to help him, led by staff member Michelle Nash.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and were joined by the Wiltshire Air Ambulance which landed in the car park.
Shoppers scrambled to move their cars away to allow it to land.
A spokesman for Great Western Ambulance Service said: “A first aid trained member of Tesco staff was doing excellent basic CPR when we arrived and she, plus other staff, continued to help crews when they took over care for the patient.
“The store ensured we had clear access to the helicopter and closed all the surrounding aisles to allow our crews to work unhindered.
“Thanks to prompt first aid from the Tesco employee, the patient quickly regained a heartbeat and was also breathing on his own by the time he was ready to be flown to RUH.”
He is the second customer to suffer a heart attack at the store in just two weeks.
