SHOPPERS are being urged to dig deep for charity.

Debenhams, in The Parade, is hosting a charity gala evening later this month and is calling on the people of Swindon to part with their cash and support the Swindon Breast Cancer Support Group.

The event takes place on October 25 at the store from 6.30pm.

A spokeswoman for the store said: “Tickets are on sale now at £5 and all proceeds will be donated to this worthwhile cause.

“The store closes at 6pm but will reopen at 6.30pm for ticket holders and guests only.

“Wine and nibbles will be provided along with a fashion show, free bra fitting service, free makeovers and much more.

“A personal shopper will also be provided so you can book an appointment for your Christmas experience, which is free of charge.

“There will also be lots more raffle prizes to be won on the night.

“Join us and make a difference – support your local charity for breast awareness,” said the spokeswoman.

The raffle prizes will also include a £600 package of beauty products, meals out, jewellery and various make-up items.

If customers spend £25 they will also receive 250 points on their Debenhams beauty reward card.

The Swindon Breast Cancer Support Group is a collection of 35 people affected by breast cancer.

The group meets usually in the academy at the Great Western Hospital on the third Monday of each month at 7.30pm and offers welcoming chat and support evenings, visits from breast care nurses, specialists as well as events such as complementary therapies.

Debenhams will also soon be hosting a VIP night for Swindon Adver loyalty card holders. More information on this will be released closer to the time.
