After being based in a church hall for over 45 years, St Mary’s Under Fives in Marlborough has moved to a new home at the town’s infants school.
Since it was established in 1964, Marlborough’s longest running pre-school had used St Mary’s Church Hall in Silverless Street but recent Ofsted reports said it lacked adequate outside play areas for the children.
The former Starworld unit for special needs children at St Mary’s Infants School had closed and its premises, separate to the school, were vacant so St Mary’s Under Fives have moved in, next door to the school where most of its 50 children will go when they are four.
Claire Perry MP was join-ed by the Mayor of Marlbor-ough, Alexander Kirk Wils- on, and the Rev Bob Toogood representing St Mary’s Church when she officially opened the new premises watched by children, staff and school governors.
