THERE may be a few nervous glances around Swindon on Halloween, later this month.
Because the results of an Adver poll suggest that a lot of people in the town believe in ghosts.
On Friday we reported that ghosthunter Trevor Hearn from Toothill is planning to spend the night of October 28 in the old house at the Lime Kiln studios in Wootton Bassett, Trevor is part of the Paranormal Investigation Team UK (PITUK) and will be using a digital sound recorder in the hope that it will pick up frequencies not audible to humans that might suggest some unusual activity.
We asked Adver readers whether they believed in ghosts, and 57 per cent of people said they did.
And this would be borne out by Paul Kaye, the programme controller for GWR, which used to work from the house.
He said that the door to the cellar would often be found open in the morning, despite being locked the previous night and the building standing empty in that time.
A legend about a man falling to his death down a staircase was blamed for the spooky happenings.
