The hunt is on to find 100 apprentices in 100 days as a campaign from Wiltshire College was launched today.
The search, run by the college's business arm Wiltshire Enterprise, was kicked off today by vice principal Bev Flanagan at its Trowbridge campus.
Last year the award-winning campaign found 105 jobs for apprentices, of which 52 were new jobs, and the plan is to beat that target this time round.
Around 30 apprentices formed a heart shape to tie in with the theme of ‘Love apprenticeships’ at the beginning of national apprenticeship week.
The campaign will receive a further boost on Thursday evening at The Arc Theatre in Trowbridge when MP Duncan Hames gives out awards to businesses and apprentices to mark the successes of last year.
Apprentices are paid a minimum of £95 a week and the government pays for the training package, which is mostly carried out on the firm's premises.
The college offers a wide range of apprenticeships in all areas of commerce buit has provided bespoke training packages for firms with specialist needs.
Businesses and young people in apprenticeships can find out more by visiting www.loveapprenticeships.com, calling 0845 345 2235 or following the campaign on twitter @WiltsEnterprise For more on the campaign see this week's paper.
