Wiltshire Council has proposed to introduce free swimming for under 16s during school holidays.
Cabinet members are this evening set to agree this year's financial plan which proposes to introduce free swimming for under 16s during school holidays, keep council tax the same for the third year running and invest an extra £14.6m into protecting the county’s most vulnerable residents.
Charges, including the cost of swimming in council-run leisure centres, would be frozen and major investment into affordable homes, roads and campuses will take place if the budget plan is finally agreed by full council on February 28.
Last year a Liberal Democrat proposal to reintroduce free swimming was overturned by councillors.
