Corsham Town Council groundsman Matthew Leighton-Fry, 50, carried the Olympic torch in Frome today and said it was an unforgettable experience.
“It was absolutely fantastic," he said. "I was pretty nervous beforehand but in the end it was all over too quick. I enjoyed it so much, it was an absolutely outstanding thing to be a part of and it probably won’t hit home just how much of a big deal it was, until the Olympics actually start in a few weeks time.
“The crowds were amazing and they gave me some lovely support during the run. I’m really pleased to be part of the relay and I’ve purchased my torch as I want to keep it to remember today and pass it down through the family.”
