THE final preparations are underway for this weekend’s open day at Stratton Fire Station.
The event, in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity, is being held on Saturday between noon and 4pm at the station based in Ermin Street.
There will be something for everyone, whatever their age, with attractions including a bouncy castle, refreshments, face painting, a tombola, a penalty shootout challenge and much more.
A couple of exercises will also be held so that visitors can see their firefighters in action, and a wide range of appliances will be on show.
The fun will then continue into the evening, when the Rat Trap pub – next to the fire station – hosts a barbecue between 4pm and 7pm.
Firefighter Jo Evans, from Red Watch – one of the event organisers – said: “We’re looking forward to a really good day, and we’re hoping lots of people come along and support us, as we’re raising money for a great cause.
“There will be lots to see and do, and it’s a brilliant opportunity to find out more about the Fire & Rescue Service.”
