Man remanded after spate of burglaries

A man who carried out a string of burglaries has been remanded in custody by a judge.
Peter Barber stole jewellery and other items when he raided a house in Bradford on Avon during the first week of June.
The 58-year-old also burgled houses in Devizes and Bath along with 19 other break-ins.
Barber, of Pontlliw, Swansea, pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary and asked for 19 further offences to be taken into consideration.
He made off with jewellery from a house in Palairet Close, Bradford on Avon, between May 29 and June 4.
A few weeks earlier he took military medals, jewellery and other items from a raid on a house in Court Gardens, Bath and also burgled jewellery and other household effects froma house on Greenfield Road, Devizes, between June 30 and July 10.
Judge Douglas Field remanded him in custody to Friday, November 2 for psychiatric and pre-sentence reports.
