A WOMAN has given birth at a bus stop outside the Great Western Hospital.
The shock delivery took place this afternoon at approximately 2pm.
The incident meant that buses due to stop at the bus stop outside the GWH had to stop elsewhere.
It is believed the woman gave birth to a baby girl, and both mother and baby are said to be doing well.
They were taken to the Delivery Suite at GWH and have since been moved to the birthing centre.
A spokesman for Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “A woman went into labour outside the main entrance of the GWH shortly after 2pm this afternoon and delivered a baby girl.
"Mother and baby were immediately taken to the Delivery Suite and both are doing well.”
