A MOTHER of two has been given a lift after landing a job with a warehouse and logistics training company in the town.

Adella Gibbs, 37, who has aspirations to become a lorry driver, was referred to TBG Learning Swindon to help her get back on the career ladder after two years without a job.

TBG then referred Adella to the vocation training provider Talent Express Ltd to add to her skills set, including working towards a warehouse administration qualification and forklift licence course.

Adella, who previously worked on the night shift at ASDA, impressed so much during her time training with Talent Express, which operates from Marshgate Industrial Estate, she was offered a job there.

And having gained her forklift licence, she has now set her sights on completing a HGV driving course.

“Shirley Miller at TBG Learning first put me in touch with Talent Express to get a few more qualifications under my belt,” said Adella.

“I got on really well with the team and ended up being offered a job as a centre co-ordinator.

“I’d been out of work for around two years and was really struggling to stand out from the crowd.

“Shirley knew my confidence had been knocked and was amazing. She knew Talent Express could help me and I was well suited to the courses they specialise in.”

Adella, who has a 13-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son, has settled in quickly in her role at the company, which provides warehouse, construction and professional driving training courses.

“My instructor Dave Owen and warehouse supervisor Chris Goodman have been brilliant, and I’ve been made to feel so welcome by everyone here,” said Adella.

TBG Learning Swindon is delivering the Government’s work programme on behalf of Jobfit, which helps the long-term unemployed back into work.

Personal advisor Shirley, based at Minton Place on Station Road, said: “We’re delighted Adella impressed so much at Talent Express.”
