Wiltshire businesses Apetito and Marshfield Bakery hope to pick up gongs in the first ever Made in the South West Awards next month.
Specialist caterers Apetito, based in Trowbridge, have been nominated in the Food and Drink category, alongside Marshfield Bakery of Dyrham.
They are among 26 companies who have been shortlisted for the Awards, which will be handed out at a ceremony in Bristol’s City Centre Marriott Hotel on November 8.
Other categories include manufacturing innovation, aerospace and defence, exporter of the year and manufacturer of the year, with companies from Cornwall to Gloucestershire nominated.
Judge Neil Tague, editor of the South West Business Insider, said: “This is the first year we’ve run the Made in the South West Awards and the response has been overwhelming.
“The UK economy needs to be re-balanced and manufacturing has to play a big part, it’s time the best of our manufacturers were championed for their world-class work.”
The Awards will be hosted by Points West presenter Dave Harvey, with an address by Augusta Westland chairman Graham Cole.
Apetito was also shortlisted in the National Business Awards for innovation in August for its plated meal system for healthcare providers. The winner will be announced on November 13.
