JOE Compton, the 11-year-old boy who was struck by lightning, is still in a stable condition at hospital.
The Dorcan Academy year seven student had been in the car park at the school when he was struck by a lightning bolt last month.
Staff from Dorcan Recreation Centre and the school rushed to his aid and administered CPR after he went into cardiac arrest.
Paramedics arrived and took him to Great Western Hospital. He was later transferred to Frenchay Hospital and is now said to be in a stable condition.
Friends say he is making progress every day but still has a long way to go.
Since the incident, a Facebook group has been set up entitled ‘Get Well Wishes For Joe Compton’ where they have been leaving messages of support, wishing the youngster a full and speedy recovery.
A fundraising page has also been set up to raise funds for Joe and his family. To donate to Joe Compton’s page visit www.gofundme.com/joecompton
