Self-confessed fans of all things spooky, Rachel Sims and Craig Gillespie, are planning a Halloween-style wedding at the end of the month.

The couple, of Keepers Road, Devizes, met through the internet and soon found they had a lot in common.

Miss Sims, 32, who is originally from Slough, said: “I sold him a ticket for a rock concert I couldn’t get to and we kept in touch. Craig has been interested in horror films since he was quite young and I am a big Rocky Horror Show fan.”

Mr Gillespie, 34, who works as a draughtsman at TH White in Devizes, originally hails from All Cannings.

The couple will be tying the knot at Devizes Town Hall on October 26 when they will be dressed in black and purple. Miss Sims’s bouquet and Mr Gillespie’s buttonhole will be made of leather and both will be wound with barbed wire.

The 70-plus guests to the reception, also at the town hall that evening, have been asked to dress in Halloween costume and two bands – Devilish Presley and Global Noise Attack – are coming from London to provide the music.

Miss Sims said: “I am a jewellery designer and I made all the merchandise for Devilish Presley.”

She has also designed the wedding invitation, which shows a homicidal brunette with a bloodstained knife and various ghouls and spectres.

Throughout the reception, black-and-white horror films will be projected onto the wall of the town hall and there will be a trick-or-treat table from which guests can help themselves to sweets.

And the beat goes on for the happy couple when they leave on honeymoon.

Miss Sims said: “We are going to London to see a performance by Alice Cooper and we will stay on for a few days to catch some other gigs, including one that is taking place on Halloween itself.”
