Nighttime curfew for man caught dangerous driving in Trowbridge car park

A man who drove dangerously in a Trowbridge car park has been put on a suspended sentence by a judge.

Aiden Phipps-Lang was behind the wheel of a VW Golf when it was driven dangerously in The Shires car park in Trowbridge on Friday, March 9.

And in the following weeks the 25-year-old stole a BMW and tried to steal another car, Swindon Crown Court was told.

Phipps-Lang, now of Dawlish, Devon, pleaded guilty to theft, attempted theft and dangerous driving.

He admitted trying to steal a Vauxhall Corsa in Chippenham on Saturday, April 7 and taking the BMW, belonging to Wiltshire Motor Company, in Swindon on May 1.

Recorder Stephen Lennard imposed a 10-month jail term suspended for 18 months and put him on a nighttime curfew on weekends for six months.

He was also banned from the road for 18 months.

His licence should be taken away forever 18 months is ridiculous, you can get that for accumalating a few points not stealing cars and driving dangerously in car parks.

Probably wont make a difference if it is 18 months or forever, will most likely still drive whilst disqualified like some others do. If he steals cars it wont make a difference to him if he still holds his licence or not.
