The funeral of St Laurence School pupil Harvey Johns will be held at West Wiltshire Crematorium in Semington at 1pm next Wednesday.
The body of the Year 12 student was discovered at his family home in Batheaston last Tuesday morning where he was pronounced dead at the scene by medical staff.
The 16-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest and friends at his school, in Ashley Road, Bradford on Avon set up a Facebook page to pay tribute to Harvey, after learning of his death later that afternoon.
On the page, which has now been joined by over 1,000 people, members decided as a mark of respect that St Laurence’s sixth formers should come to school dressed in red and black in honour of Harvey which they did last Wednesday.
The gesture referred to Harvey’s love of history, in particular a trip he went on with the school last summer to First World War battlefields in France and Belgium, where he and fellow students were given red T-shirts for their travels.
Yesterday (Tuesday), Avon and Somerset Coroner’s office opened and adjourned an inquest into Harvey’s death.
