Contemporary feel for Corsham Festival
7:00pm Friday 12th October 2012 in News
The new-look Corsham Festival starts next Thursday, October 18, providing an autumn boost for the town and surrounding area.
The festival usually runs during the summer, but was replaced this year by the Corsham Summer Festival.
A series of events across the town until October 21, will include live music, exhibitions and workshops.
Michael Cainen, the programme manager at Pound Arts, which runs the festival, said: “We have created a new four-day festival, so that we can focus on the contemporary side of our work.
“We are delighted with the fantastic variety of events in the programme.” Highlights will include jazz group Sector7 at The Pound, at 7.30pm on Thursday, and the Hillman Quartet at Hartham Church, at 7.30pm on Friday, October 19.
Violinist Rosalind Ventris will help to draw the festival to a close when she performs at St Bartholomew’s Church at 3pm on Sunday, October 21.
There will also be an ethometric museum at Corsham Almshouses, featuring a display of intricate musical instruments.
