Sue Deedigan - 4Children’s manager for its Wiltshire children’s centres - has set off on a trip to the northern highlands of Vietnam for a ten-day fundraising trek.

Sue, who lives in Chippenham, works at the 4Children charity’s office in Trowbridge.

She said before she went: “It is fantastic to be able to contribute to 4Children’s great work in Wiltshire and hopefully to obtain extra funding for incredibly valuable services, helping vulnerable children in my local area.

“The trek is a massive undertaking for me, but I am keen to take on this challenge, and it is great to be so supported by 4Children and my colleagues.”

Sue plans to walk for up to 11 miles each day, starting from Hanoi, on the trip organised by Global Adventure Challenges.

Her training included 15 miles of walking in five hours during the Sarsen Trail event in May.

On her Justgiving page, she said: “The money raised will be used for projects that support the more vulnerable children aged up to five in our county.

“We work with their families to empower and inspire - leading to better opportunities and outcomes for their children.

“This trek is going to be challenging but when the going gets hard the... well you know the rest!

“I am going to pay all expenses myself so all monies raised will go to charity so please do support me.”
