Male members of staff at Plank’s Farm Shop at Lydeway, near Devizes, got into the spirit of Pink Week by getting their legs waxed to raise money for Cancer Research UK’s war on breast cancer.
Butcher Chris Webber and head chef Andy Bartlett raised £300 in sponsorship donations by agreeing to have their legs waxed by beautician Holly Burbage from Willitt & James.
Shop manager Liz Nelson said: “They were very brave. I don’t think they realised what they were letting themselves in for.
“There was some pain, of course, but they both said they felt a little cold afterwards.
“We are very pleased with the amount that was raised and would like to thank all our customers who sponsored the lads.”
Many businesses in the Devizes area took part in Pink Week, filling their windows with pink balloons and streamers and collecting money from their customers.
The week was organised by the Devizes branch of Cancer Research UK.
