MELKSHAM Town are through to the next round of the Les Phillips Cup after they were pushed all the way by First Division Chard Town last weekend.
Dan Griffiths and Gery Higdon were on target for Dave Clayton's men as the tie went into extra-time and with neither side able to find the winner, the match went to penalties.
Dave Macey missed his kick for Melksham but keeper Tom Drewitt made two saves while succesful efforts from Griffiths, Ian Jeffrey and Nathan Flower sealed the victory.
Clayton's men host Hellenic League Highworth Town in the second round of the Wiltshire Senior Cup next weekend.
