FROME Town produced an excellent away performance to earn a 1-1 draw at high-flying Stourbridge last weekend.

Ollie Chenoweth continued his great form in the Frome goal as he produced a stunning save in the third minute to tip over a Paul McCone header from a corner.

And then the Robins took the lead six minutes later as Dave Gilroy beat his man and fed the ball to Lewis Powell, who was clipped on the edge of the area.

The Frome striker picked himself up, dusted himself off and produced a great free kick that screamed into the net.

Powell could have increased Frome’s lead in the 50th minute as headed over a Gilroy cross, but a minute later Stourbridge were level as a quick break from Luke Benbow saw him feed the ball to Ben Billingham, who struck a low shot hard into the far corner.

Stourbridge started to pressure Darren Perrin's men as they looked for the winner, but a break in the 84th minute saw a Ben Wood cross find Powell unmarked, but his shot went wide of the goal.

The hosts almost won the game in the second minute of injury time, but again Chenoweth reacted quickly and Benbow was denied the winner.

Frome host Chesham United next weekend.
