An online men’s sock subscription service has donated dozens of pairs of socks as an early Christmas present to a family of chilly chipmunks at Longleat Safari & Adventure Park.
The chipmunks use the socks as sleeping quarters and places to store their food and raise their young.
However, sock stocks were running low at the Wiltshire Safari Park and staff decided to invite the public to donate unwanted odd socks.
Socked.co.uk heard of the appeal and were only too happy to help give the animals somewhere cosy to sleep.
Longleat Keeper Darren Beasley said: “We made an appeal asking for odd socks and had a great response from local people but we also received pairs of very smart socks from Socked.co.uk.
“It was a very generous offer and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated to our sock appeal,” he added.
