Science comes to life for Wiltshire College students
Aspiring scientists took part in experiments and got a chance to look over a racing car from Castle Combe last week.
Wiltshire College’s Science Technology Engin-eering and Maths (STEM) expo included insights into architecture, surgery, and playing Jenga using a robotic arm.
Other activities includ-ed a mock virus outbreak for students to manage, a live video conference with an expert heart surgeon from Spain, a tank driving simulator and a 3D printing workshop.
Held at the Trowbridge and Salisbury campuses, STEM was open to schools across the county and aimed to encourage students to consider scientific careers.
Wiltshire College learn-ing director Mark Thomp-son said: “It was good to have a range of employers convey messages about the skills they seek and the potential employment opportunities open to committed students.”
