The One Show’s presenters Alex Jones and Matt Baker cycled through west Wiltshire as part of their Rickshaw Challenge raising money for Children in Need this morning.
Supporters lined the streets of Bradford on Avon and Trowbridge to cheer on the pair and the rest of their team made-up of young volunteers from across the country.
The Rickshaw Challenge started on Friday, November 9 in Llandudno, Wales, and they are expected to arrive at BBC Television Centre, in London, on Friday for the charity’s appeal show.
Matt Baker said: “We left Bath at 6.30am, we’ve really enjoyed the beautiful scenery but not the steep hills, although the support we’ve received has been wonderful and I think this is the most picturesque route we’ve travelled along so far.”
Last night, the presenters were joined by comedian John Bishop to record the BBC show in Bath and switch-on the city’s Christmas lights.
Miss Jones said: “It was an excellent night and we had such a huge crowd and John Bishop did a great job. It was a lovely atmosphere and the support was phenomenal and of great benefit to the team after a long day of cycling.”
The team is currently heading towards Frome, then moving onwards to Westbury and finishing this leg of their challenge in Salisbury.
