Pupils at St Barnabas Primary School in Market Lavington were entertained by comedy writing duo, The 2Steves.
Steve Barlow and Steve Skidmore visited the school yesterday to help open the refitted library.
The 2Steves are former teachers and have written 150 children’s books.
They talked to the pupils about how they became authors and how everyone has the capability to write.
The duo read stories the pupils had written and inspired them with ideas.
The school library has been redesigned on a castle theme. Turrets and a wall have been built and a keep will follow. A workstation and bench have been created and headteacher Jill Hibbs said the new look library is better.
Mrs Hibbs, who took over as head at the 84-pupil school in January, said: “We had a library that had lots of books but I felt it wasn’t a warm or friendly place to sit and enjoy books. The children have started decorating the castle so they have ownership of it.”
