Members of a dementia day club in Devizes have been enjoying pizza donated by the Domino’s shop in the town.

Domino’s has agreed to donate a meal to the Sidmouth Club, run by Alzheimer’s Support in Sidmouth Street, every three to four months.

Sidmouth Club manager Grant Newton said: “Some of our members had not eaten pizza before but everyone really enjoyed it. The support of our local business community is vital in keeping our service alive. We are really grateful to businesses like Domino’s who help in so many ways.”

Meanwhile, Alzheimer’s Support is appealing for volunteers to spread the word about dementia.

The charity is working on a project, funded by Comic Relief, Wiltshire Council and NHS Wiltshire, to bring information and support to people who may be concerned about memory loss.

Volunteers will talk to groups or individuals about the differences between normal ageing and dementia, the benefits of diagnosis and living with dementia.

Full training and support will be given. Call Annie Clayton on (01225) 776481.
