A 50-year-old man who died after being stabbed in the early hours of the morning in Trowbridge has been named as Ian Graham.

His body has yet to be formally identified by the coroner, but his family have been notified by Wiltshire Police.

Ambulance crews treated Mr Graham for a stab wound to the neck at the scene in Beaufort Mansions in Stallard Street, at around 4.30am.

He was rushed to the Royal United Hospital in Bath but died en route.

A 45-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

She remains in police custody at Melksham Police Station but no charges have yet been made.

An investigation has been opened under Operation Brunel and the senior investigating officer is Detective Chief Inspector Ian Saunders.

A police spokesman said: "Police are trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and would like to hear from anyone who may have information which could assist the investigation, in particular anyone who heard or saw anything in the Beaufort Mansions area between the hours of midnight and 4.30am today."
