EBOOKS have proven popular with Wiltshire residents, with 10,000 being loaned from Wiltshire Council-run libraries since they launched in February.

Members are welcome to download more than 2,500 eBooks, using their library card number and PIN, 24-hours a day; up to five eBooks can be borrowed at a time, automatically expiring after three weeks.

Alan MacRae, portfolio holder for libraries said: “We are continually adding to the collection and we hope more and more people will be encouraged to use this excellent service.”

In November, around 400 new eBooks were added to the library’s collection, including titles by Andy McNab, Jo Nesbo, Terry Pratchett, Lee Child, James Patterson, Sophie Kinsella and Henning Mankell.

They can be read on Kobo, Sony and Nook eReaders, iPhones, iPads, Androids and Blackberry devices as well as PCs and laptops. See www.wilt shire.gov.uk/libraryebooks.htm
