SCHOOLS, community groups and residents in the south west are being encouraged to put pen to paper for National Doodle Day.

The event, on February 8, raises money for the charity Epilepsy Action.

Doodlers will join famous faces including Sir Ian McKellen, Mary Berry, Tess Daly and Lorraine Kelly by taking part in the event.

National Doodle Day, which is supported by Dodo Pad, is in its 10th year. It aims to help support the 51,000 people with epilepsy across the county.

Epilepsy Action is inviting schools, workplaces and groups to ‘do a doodle, donate a pound’ with the chance of a prize.

Any school or group can register for an organiser’s guide containing template doodle cards, posters, a doodle donation box and venue decorations.

They will have the chance to win £250 of equipment and resource vouchers.

Their nominated doodler will also receive a 3D stuffed figure, custom made to look like their doodle.
