Appeal after Devizes worker hit by flying bottle

Police are appealing for information about an incident in the Devizes branch of Sainsbury’s on Christmas Eve when a member of staff was hit by a flying bottle.

A man and woman entered the store and tried to buy alcohol. The man was challenged to provide identification because he appeared to be under 25. He became angry and threw the bottles he was carrying, one of which hit a woman member of staff and then smashed on the floor.

The man is described as white, in his 20s, wearing a black hat, light-coloured combat trousers and a baggy fleece with two lines across it.

Witnesses are asked to contact Devizes police through the 101 non-emergency number.

So it wasn't a magic flying bottle then, it was an assault caused by a bottle thrown by a thug. Don't the supermarkets have CCTV?

I don’t condone what the perpetrator did here but I do think a little common sense may have prevented this. In the description she describes the assailant as early 20s, I understand they might have challenge 25 but if you think he is in his 20’s serve him alcohol as he’s clearly not under 18.
