Flooding at Bradford on Avon in November
Following major flooding at the end of the year, 2012 was the wettest year in Wiltshire since 2000.
After a relatively dry start to the year, 941 millimetres of rainfall was recorded, less than the 1,044mm which fell in 2000.
But last month was the wettest December in 19 years.
The total rainfall during December was 125.4mm, the wettest since 1993 when 132.7mm was recorded. The record for the wettest December was 1989, with 156.1mm of rainfall recorded.
The coldest temperature recorded was -9.3C overnight on February 3, with the coldest daytime coming on December 11 at -1C.
The warmest day of the year was July 25, when temperatures peaked at 29.3, with the warmest night reaching 16.2 that same evening.
The wettest day was November 24, when 25.6mm of rainfall was recorded.
It rained on a total of 216 days, and settled snow was recorded on three days at the start of the year.
December narrowly edged out November as the wettest month of the year, with 125.4mm of rainfall recorded. The lowest temperature last month was -5.4C on the 11th, with the warmest reaching 13C on the 22nd.
The figures were recorded by amateur meteorologist Geoff Witts, 62, who tracks the temperature and rainfall at his home in Steeple Ashton for Wiltshire Council.
He has been monitoring the weather in Wiltshire every day for 45 years.

There are publicly available weather resources out there and it's not unreasonable (is it?) to expect the WT to expend a tiny bit more effort on a slightly more thorough piece.
