New Devizes boot camp way to fitness

Devizes residents wanting to lose some of the pounds they put on at Christmas can find a fun, outdoor way of getting fit on The Green on Sunday.

Liam Maclachlan, of Dowlands Road, Devizes, and two other fitness trainers will be leading a fitness boot camp, starting at 10am, which, it is hoped, will become regular weekly event.

Mr Maclachlan, who runs Evolution Fitness, said: “The sessions will run for about an hour and we hope to run them every Sunday, if we get permission from the town council.

“This is a way of getting fit that doesn’t involve going to the gym. No one likes working out on their own and coming along to these sessions means that you meet other people and have some fun while getting fit.”

Each of the three trainers will run an activity. One will involve such exercises as tyre flipping and tug of war, while the others will include fitness circuits and boxing.

The cost is £5 for each person for each session.

Because the boot camp is taking place outdoors, participants are advised to bring a jumper and waterproofs.

Mr Maclachlan said: “After the warm-up, no one will notice the cold.”

Anyone wanting to take part can just turn up on Sunday, but, to book a slot in advance, they can contact info@evolutionfitnesswilts.co.uk
