A public meeting will be held at Devizes Corn Exchange, to debate changes in the NHS.

The changes are happening nationally and include the abolition of Primary Care Trusts, including NHS Wiltshire, and their replacement by new Clinical Commissioning Groups, run mainly by GPs.

Information will be given about a new health and social care watchdog, Healthwatch Wiltshire, and the role of public health and Health and Wellbeing Boards.

Speakers will include Maggie Rae, the director of public health in Wiltshire, and Dr Simon Burrell of the CCG. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.

The meeting – on Saturday, February 2, from 10.30am to 3pm – has been organised by Wiltshire Involvement Network, which will be replaced by the new Healthwatch Wiltshire.
