Wiltshire Council are prioritising the collection of household waste as from today.

Refuse collectors will only be attempting to access areas where it is safe to do so, and continuing freezing conditions mean that further disruption to rubbish collections is expected, especially from side roads and estate roads which would not normally be gritted.

Wiltshire Council are advising residents to leave bins out on normal collection days and if not emptied on that day, to leave them out. A spokesperson said: "Please leave it out and we will get back to collect it as soon as it is safe for us to do so.

As for black box recycling collections, where local conditions permit, it is anticipated that collections scheduled for today through to Friday will be attempted as per normal.

All Household Recycling Centres are currently closed due to the conditions and the council will advise when they reopen.
