A man was killed after being struck by a car on the A4 at Fyfield near Marlborough last night.
The collision between the pedestrian, a 34-year-old local man who was walking along the A4, and a Jaguar car occurred at about 7.20pm.
PC Steve Cox, of the serious collision investigation team at Wiltshire Police, said the Jaguar was travelling in the direction of Marlborough when the collision happened.
The Jaguar was driven by a 59-year-old man from the Marlborough area.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A4 was closed for three and a half hours to allow police to carry out an investigation.
Any witnesses are asked to call PC Ecclestone at Wiltshire Police on 101.
