Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a paper boy on his rounds in Devizes on Saturday morning.

At around 9.30am the 14-year-old boy was delivering papers in Nursteed Road when he was attacked by a man in his fifties, close to the junction with Roseland Avenue.

A police spokesman said: “The boy was shocked and sustained slight bruising to his face. We don’t know what the motive for this attack might be and we would like to hear from anyone who saw the incident.”
