A WOMAN was charged with drink-driving after a silver VW Polo crashed through snow and ice into a ditch and flipped over in Lambrok Road, Trow-bridge, at 4am on Saturday.

Julia Mills, 26, of Lambrok Road, was charged with being in charge of a vehicle while unfit by reason of excess alcohol, having no licence and no insurance.

She was released by police and is expected to appear at North West Wiltshire Magistrates Court in Chippenham on February 8.

A 26-year-old male passenger in the vehicle was also arrested by police at the scene but was released without charge.

Ambulance and fire crews attended the incident but neither the driver of the car nor the passenger were injured.
