A ladies only Trowbridge fashion fundraiser is taking place to raise money for Breast Cancer Care in March.

Organised by Wayne Palmer, who carried the Olympic Flame through Trowbridge in last year’s torch relay, the annual event will include a catwalk of models wearing the latest collections from Debenhams, New Look, The Bridal Lounge and Asda.

The event, which launched in 2006, was previously held in Melksham on two nights but this year it will be taking place at Trowbridge Civic Centre over three nights; March 21, 22, 23.

Host Mr Palmer, 41, said: “This year the fashion show will include models who are survivors of breast cancer.

“These women prove to us all that with spirit and determination we can beat this disease that affects so many of us, whether on a very personal way or through a family member or friend.”

Mr Palmer said that tickets for Friday and Saturday have already sold out but some remain for the Thursday event.

Food and drink at the events will be served to the ladies attending by half naked men who’ll be table hosts.

The men will be joined by a number of other volunteers helping to put on the fundraiser.

Mr Palmer said: “We are so grateful to everyone who gets involved in this amazing event and it is testament to the success of previous years that this year we have had to add another night to accommodate everyone. A special thanks goes to all the local companies and individuals that have sponsored this event.”
