Anti-social drivers in Trowbridge were targeted by Wiltshire Police on Monday evening.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit and the Neighbourhood Policing Team have been keeping up the pressure on drivers who cause a nuisance in parts of the town.
Since launching Operation Endeavour in December, the Roads Policing Unit and Neighbour Policing Team have been targeting known nuisance areas in the town including Bradley Road, Wiltshire Drive and the Spitfire retail park.
Sergeant Gavin Brewster, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “We stopped a number of people for driving whilst using their mobile phones, speeding on Bradley Road and adjoining roads, driving without insurance or ignoring the no right turn out of the retail park.
“We also carried out checks on vehicles to ensure they were safe and roadworthy.”
The police carried out a similar operation in December in an attempt to reduce speeding, engine revving and load music playing from vehicles, particularly in the retail park.
PC Helen Daveridge, Community Beat Manager, said: “We are pleased that our initiative, coupled with the co-operation of the retail park, has led to a significant drop in reported incidents.
“Since talks with the council and the landlord of the retail park, the barriers are being closed on time which has no doubt helped to reduce anti-social driving.”
